RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design, execute, analyze, and maintain test plans, test cases and test scripts implementing proven quality assurance practices pertaining to software testing.
Utilize automated software test tools as available with an emphasis on the use of open source software.
Work closely with software and quality assurance engineers, product support and customer support personnel in the resolution of any assigned task.
Assess and estimate test requirements based on use case or other requirement documentation.
Generate test reports including results of testing and product stability, including recommendations concerning release of product.
Effectively participate in project meetings, clearly articulating project risk and provide concise recommendations to development and product management.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Must have the following Experience:
Must have experience in the Operating System installation and configuration of Windows 2000, XP, 2000 Family and 2003 Family of Servers. (MS Server Admin type experience)
Must have experience in the configuration of Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, Domain Controllers, Terminal Servers, and Exchange Server with Outlook and Other email clients.
Must have comprehensive understanding of the Windows Registry.
Must have experience in ODBC driver installation/troubleshooting in Windows.
Must have experience in creating and executing black box tests of Windows based applications to include Dynamic Link Libraries.
Knowledge of PC Hardware to include the ability to swap or add hardware as required.
Must have comprehensive understanding of TCP/IP, network protocols including port usage, network hardware including firewalls, routers, switches, hugs and physical transport mediums, and network architectures.
A Strong technical understanding of Databases (Postgres, MySQL, Oracle) with a proven ability to create and execute SQL statements.
3 or more years working in a Linux/UNIX environment (RedHat preferred). Strong understanding of file systems, system monitoring, installations using make and RPM Management.
A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or equivalent work experience
Experience in the following is desirable but not required
Comprehensive understanding of Microsoft COM, ISA Plug-in Development, MS Winsock Programming and CORBA.
Comprehensive knowledge of Lotus Notes and Domino.
Experience in the configuration of Proxy Servers, Citrix Servers, SMB, IIS, LDAP
Technologies (HTML, XML, CSS, JavaScript, Visual Basic, JSP, ASP, SSH, FTP, Web Servers (Apache and Tomcat). Ability to create HTML pages incorporating CSS, comprehensive understanding of JavaScript code (functions and use).
Usage of Crystal Reports.
Experience in designing, implementing/validating unit tests using Junit with integration into ANT or Maven.
Experience in creating and executing black box testing of API's written in C using PERL, Python and shell scripts implementing data driven automated tests.
3 or more years experience in the implementation and use of Automated Testing Tools including Commercial off the Shelf Tools (Quick Test Pro), and Open Source Tools (OpenSTA, Junit, Jcoverage, Jprofiler, Bugzilla, etc...) To include installation, setup, configuration and operation of such tools in a Linux or Windows Environment.
Working knowledge of MAC OSX
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or equivalent work experience.
Experience in the following is desirable
Comprehensive knowledge of Windows 2000/2003 Servers, including installation and configuration of DNS, Active Directory, Exchange, Lotus Notes, IIS, and SMB
Comprehensive knowledge of NFS, including installation and configuration.
Usage of Crystal Reports.
Knowledge of PC Hardware to include the ability to swap or add hardware as required.
Working knowledge of MAC OSX
